Meet Miranda – Somatic Attuned Healer
Miranda’s philosophy of healing is grounded in a Trauma-Informed, Liberation-Oriented, and Somatically Attuned approach to care. She understands healing as non-linear and contextual, shaped by nervous system regulation, attachment experiences, relational safety, and sociopolitical realities. Therapy is offered as a collaborative and respectful partnership where clients of all genders can explore emotions, patterns, and relationships at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.
Her approach integrates evidence-based modalities including Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), alongside somatic-informed practices that support grounding, regulation, and reconnection with the body. With clients experiencing depression, emotional detachment, or relational strain, Miranda emphasizes building awareness, restoring a sense of internal safety, and expanding emotional capacity without pressure or judgment.
Rooted in cultural humility, empowerment, and relational care, Miranda supports clients in externalizing shame, strengthening self-understanding, and moving toward lives that feel aligned, meaningful, and self-directed.
Q&A with Miranda
-
My ideal client may be a young adult or older adult navigating identity challenges, major life transitions, or the impact of intergenerational trauma. They may have a history of abandonment, childhood neglect, or emotional inconsistency and are now seeking clarity about who they are and what truly works for them in their life. Often, they feel stuck between survival patterns and a desire for deeper fulfillment, healing, and self-trust. They are motivated to explore how past experiences shape present relationships, choices, and self-worth, and they are open to developing new ways of relating to themselves and the world.

African-Centered, Intersectional, and Strengths-Based Frameworks

I tailor my approach by first prioritizing safety, attunement, and collaboration. I take time to understand each client’s lived experiences, identities, cultural context, and goals, recognizing that healing does not happen in isolation from the systems people live within. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I remain flexible and responsive, adjusting interventions based on the client’s nervous system, readiness, and what feels most supportive in the moment.
-
Clients can expect sessions with me to feel safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental. We acknowledge how culture, family dynamics, identity, and systemic stressors impact mental health. Therapy isn’t just about what’s happening “inside” you, it’s also about what you’ve had to navigate.
-
I build rapport and create a safe space by being genuinely present, consistent, and non-judgmental from the very beginning
-
I empower clients by helping them recognize their strengths, build practical skills, and develop confidence in their ability to navigate challenges both inside and outside of therapy.
-
I approach every client with cultural humility, curiosity, and an awareness of how systemic and historical factors shape wellbeing.
-
I provide accommodations by adapting communication, pacing, structure, and interventions so therapy is accessible, respectful, and responsive to each client’s emotional, cognitive, cultural, and situational needs.
-
I want clients to leave therapy feeling more grounded, more connected to themselves, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges, with a sense of safety and peace of mind.
-
I approach therapy as a collaborative process, where every part of you is welcome in the space. I invite vulnerability in each session and emphasize that it’s okay to feel all the things; every emotion, thought, and experience has a place here. Together, we create a space where you can explore, process, and integrate your experiences safely and authentically.
