Meet Atyana – Therapist, Advocate, and Compassionate Guide

Atyana is a dedicated therapist with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work, as well as licensure as a School Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A). Her passion for supporting others has led her to serve individuals and families across a variety of settings—including work with expecting mothers, school-aged children, and those navigating substance use challenges.

Grounded in her faith and shaped by her own journey of healing and self-discovery, Atyana approaches therapy with deep compassion and care. She believes in helping clients reconnect with joy, uncover their purpose, and build meaningful lives aligned with their values. Her therapeutic framework invites clients to explore their beliefs, make sense of their experiences, and find hope along the way.

As an LCSW-A, Atyana is committed to continued growth—both personally and professionally—and to walking alongside each client with empathy, respect, and unwavering support.

Q&A with Atyana

  • I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support your healing. CBT helps you explore how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions, gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you. DBT adds tools to manage overwhelming emotions, build healthy relationships, and stay grounded through life’s challenges. Both approaches are rooted in helping you respond to life with clarity and intention—so you can live with purpose, peace, and deeper alignment.

  • I use strengths-based, narrative, and motivational interviewing frameworks to help you reconnect with your inner wisdom, clarify your values, and move toward meaningful change. Together, we’ll explore the stories you’ve carried—reframing those rooted in pain or limitation—and highlight the strengths that have helped you endure.

  • I assess where you want to go and continually gauge the direction of the sessions. That could look like checking in with you to see where you are in terms of your goals, remaining flexible and authentic.

  • Each session typically begins with a brief check-in or recap of anything that’s come up since our last meeting. From there, we’ll explore any current concerns, process thoughts or experiences—whether from the past, present, or upcoming—and work through anything that feels most pressing. Depending on your goals, I may offer reflections or suggest homework to support your growth between sessions.

  • I believe in being authentic—maintaining a calm, grounded presence while also showing that I’m human. There may be moments where we laugh together, shed a few tears, or gently lean into challenges depending on what you’re working through. No matter what, I’ll always honor and commend you for taking this brave step toward bettering yourself.

  • If a client identifies as Christian, we may incorporate moments of prayer, spiritual reflection, or faith-based conversation. For those who don’t identify as religious, we’ll center our time on their inner strengths—gently reminding them of their resilience, even in the smallest ways. Sometimes, we all just need a reminder of what’s already within us.

  • I stay mindful of what’s happening in the world, approaching each session with an open mind and a willingness to learn, grow, and hold space for each client’s unique experience.

  • For mothers, I understand that children may occasionally be present or cause distractions, and I always show up with patience, flexibility, and understanding.

  • My goal is to gently guide clients as they rebuild from what feels broken, make peace with any losses, and discover meaning in their journey—or reconnect with the spark within themselves.

  • I want you to know that I bring my full, authentic self to this work—calm, compassionate, and human. Whether we’re laughing, working through something heavy, or just figuring things out together, I’ll meet you where you are. Your story, your strengths, and your faith (if that’s part of your life) are always welcome here.
